Word Game
Unboxed is the after-game game I like to play, in which I try to compose imaginative, humorous, profound, or at least coherent sentences using all the words that comprised a Letter Boxed puzzle solution.
Letter Boxed?
For those who are not familiar with Letter Boxed, it is a delightfully challenging daily online word game from The New York Times. Each Letter Boxed solution consists of 2-4 random words composed from a set of 12 letters, and typically features "rare" letters like X,Z,Q,U,V,K,J and just 2 or 3 vowels.
It began on Friday the 13th, 2024.
My friend Aga C. and I had been swapping Letter Boxed plays via text for a few months, when we had this exchange:
And the game was on!
I like to do as many as possible, so I'll often do his words too. He encourages me.
Some Unboxings are definitely better than others, and some, apparently, require an intimate knowledge of The Quiet Man, John Ford's 1952 classic movie starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara.
With Unboxed you never know what you're going to get, but now that you get "it," you should check out the latest and historical Unboxings!
