Résumé
"Cloud-Chart"
I had an idea for a "cloud-charty" version of my résumé, in which the size of words conveyed data, relative magnitude of some measure, but of what, I left to the reader. Experience? Importance? Time? All of them? I liked thinking about that.
I shared it with some friends and family, and it was disliked by a sound plurality. Everyone had a different complaint, although I found it fascinating that no one complained that they didn't know what data the word size was conveying! Anyway, I tossed it on the heap with my other misbegotten and forgotten creations.
Why am I telling you this? To show you that
I know I'm fallible
I seek advice
I weigh it
I can accept critical feedback
My son Alex suggested that if I was going to do a cloud chart, I should have fully executed the design. I had not gone far enough, he said: it was rushed, half-baked. I think he hit the nail on the head. You can see for yourself, but please remember this did not pass Go.
I didn't have the time to fully execute my cloud résumé, so I pulled it. But then it occurred to me that this didn't have to be a complete loss. I could use this episode to tell another story about myself, and give this one misbegotten creation a second life.
All good stuff, but don't miss my captivating career arc!
